Meet Matt

Matt dreamed of riding and training horses all his young life, but he grew up in the city in Dallas, Georgia and couldn't have horses. He played numerous other sports though.  Baseball, basketball, soccer (which he excelled in) and archery.  In 2000, Matt moved back to North Mississippi with his family and didn't waste any time learning all about horses.

Even though Matt did not have the opportunity to ride horses when he was little, he rides like a pro now.  He has been riding since 2001 and has come a long way.  The John Lyons program enhanced his natural ability to work with and ride horses.

Matt is also a "Heart-Centered Horsemanship" Master Graduate, under the direction of  Ron & Kathy Valentine, who are also John Lyons certified trainers.  Ron & Kathy reside in the beautiful Bitterroot Valley in Victor, Montana.  Ron & Kathy were so impressed with Matt's ability to train horses and communicate with people, that they have asked him to stay on and train at their facilities, which he so graciously accepted.  So if you're in that area, please give Matt a call.

CLINICS:

Two Day Horse/Rider Clinic

Two-day clinics will be held with a minimum of 10 riders and a maximum of 15. All riding disciplines are welcome. A full cheek snaffle bit is required. All clinics begin with groundwork in the morning of the first day followed by intense saddle work for the remaining clinic days.

Develop a lasting partnership with your horse based on mutual trust, communication and respect

This clinic will improve a beginning rider's skills and take advanced riders to new levels of horsemanship. The horse and rider will improve awareness of each other's needs; learn the power of focus; and develop more confidence, trust and understanding in each other. Riders will build a partnership with their horses that will make riding much more fun and enjoyable.

This is a great opportunity for horse owners to learn new techniques and learn to teach their own horse in a positive and safe environment. The camaraderie, which develops in these clinics, is incredible. The results speak for themselves. The length and format can be custom tailored to the needs of the hosting organization and participants, if necessary. Two-day horse/rider clinics are $250.00. Spectator fees are $25.00 each day for pre-registered spectators or $30.00 each day at the door.
